Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief

This week I read Percy Jackson And The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan.
This is the blurb (summary on the back):

Look, I didn't want to be a Half-Blood. I never asked to be the son of a Greek god.
I was just a normal kid, going to school, playing basketball, skateboarding. The usual. Until I accidentally vaporized my maths teacher. Now I spend my time battling monsters and generally trying to stay alive.

This is the one where Zeus, the god of the sky, thinks I've stolen his lightning bolt-and making Zeus angry is a very bad idea.

This book is based on the family rivalry between Hades, the god of the underworld, Poseidon,  the god of the sea, Zeus the god of the sky. They are all brothers and their dad is Kronos, leader of the Titans. Half-bloods are the children of the gods, and they are called demi-gods. The main characters are Perseus Jackson or Percy Jackson, Annabeth, daughter of Athena, and Grover, who is a satyr.
Here is a google drawing of a recreated version of the book cover.
The clouds represent Zeus, the water represents Poseidon, the black spike represent Hades. The lightning bolt represents Zeus lightning sword.

  1. Hola Catalina,
This is a great book. I enjoyed it more than the movie (but I generally do prefer the books. Sometimes the characters in the movies don't look like what I imagined when I read the book). I really like your google drawing because it is not over crowded. Each image and text has it's own space. Is this exactly like the cover of the book or your own creation? I have an old version so my cover might be different.
Do you want to read any more in the series?

    1. Bonjour Mrs Naden,
The book cover of the book I borrowed from my mum's friend was a different cover but I took little bits of it and used that. I definitely want to read the next book, Percy Jackson and the Sea Of Monsters.
I hope you read my blog again!

    4. Mōrena Catalina,
I had forgotten about that app. Thank you for reminding me. Have you blogged about the app and how you are using it? Others might have forgotten too or not even know about it. It is such a great database.
