How an electrical circuit works
Have you ever wondered how an electrical circuit works? Does circuit sound familiar? Yup, it does. Like the word circle, a circuit goes round and round.
A simple circuit contains a battery, what we call the power source. This is where the energy comes from. Batteries have a positive, (+), and negative, (-) side.
Next, to make the electricity go around, you need something to connect to the power source to the light bulb. Usually, you use some kind of wire. Then the light bulb connects and lights up if there are no gaps.
You can use a switch to turn the bulb on and off. This because if you turn it off it makes a small gap in the circuit, and the electricity can’t jump gaps, the light bulb turns off. Vice versa if you turn it on.
