It took me a while, but finally, I did it!
I've always wanted to do a front or back handspring in gymnastics.
A front handspring is when you go forward into a handstand and snap up from the bridge.
Sometimes I find it hard to land.
Here are some videos of me doing a front handspring.
Here is another video of me doing a round-off backdrop and straddle to handstand.

ReplyDeleteWow! You have perfected that. It is very impressive. Isn't it such a great feeling to achieve something you have been wanting to do for ages? My daughter had the same goal as you when she was about 7 years old so I signed her up for the gym club. It took her a term to do a front handspring and backwards walkover, and then she wanted to quit! I was gobsmacked. When I asked her why, she told me that's all she wanted to learn how to do in gym and that she was sick of rope burn (they climbed to the roof and back down again every session). I was actually secretly glad because she was also swimming, Surf Life Saving, Highland Dancing (and Irish), playing football and wanting to find time to play with her friends. She was busy.
What's your next gymnastics goal?

Kia Ora Mrs Naden,
DeleteThank you! In gymnastics, we have a rule if we fall off the beam, or don't pointe our toes, we have to climb the rope 3 times! I also do Surf Life Saving, and soccer but I haven't tried Highland or Irish dancing. My next gymnastics goal is to be able to do a back handspring and do a front handspring on the grass! I am not sure how to start for a back handspring but I will do some research.
