Book Of The Road Sestina Poems

This term we are participating in the #Get NZ Writing. We send our writing and about our school to another school in NZ. This year our school was writing to Marine View School in Auckland.
We are writing Sestina poems.

Gushing waterfalls across the clay wall,
Counting down the 18 hour drive,
Gazing at the remarkable South Island sights,
Santino repeating, “Are we there yet?”
Immense split rocks at Moeraki beach,
Greeting, hugging, food cooking, laughing, presents!

Family reunions and a fancy wedding,
Informative museums, huge malls, long traffic,
Hearing and seeing, laughing and crying,
Hours in a hot, stuffy, plane,
Giannina’s whining and crying all throughout,
Taking the long, long scenic route.

  1. Kia ora Catalina,
It's lovely to see all the blogging you have done this week - well done.
Your sestina's are great. What did you enjoy about this and what did you find tricky?

Thank you for your positive comment.
I enjoyed recaping on my journeys with my family.
I found it hard to think of six-letter phrases.
      Mā te wā,
