Paoa And Kiwa
On Thursday a lady from the Tairawhiti museum came to talk about the waka Horouta and the story of Paoa and Kiwa. I learned that Horrua mean two. Horrua was the kind of waka that Paoa and Kiwa sailed on. It had two sails and two hulls. We did sand art by tracing glue on a template of a waka and sprinkling sand over the glue. We also made a waka Horrua by making sails with fabric and skewers and poking them in drift wood.
