I Am From

We are learning to describe. I am from is a list about where you live and what happens there.
I found it tricky to find a place for my simile.
I found it easy to describe and use specific nouns.

I am from
A Weatherboard house with a medium-sized backyard a curved gravel driveway a ferocious front lawn, sprinkled with prickles, like flour dusted generously on dough
Rectangular clear pool but with bit of leaves
And a concrete porch with a spiky doormat.

I am from
A warm kitchen with warm smells,
Cold soba, gyoza, and swedish meatballs,
A pantry full of beef stock, uncooked noodles and a variety of spices and condiments,
A fruit bowl with bananas, plums, and old stems,
Cake tins full of cinnamon rolls, brownies, and chocolate crinkles.

I am from
Early morning snuggles, being nicely dressed for church,
and nose diving into the Waikanae waves
Counting victories for Cluedo, Uno and Top Trumps.

I am from
My family and I singing to the top of our lungs to
Taylor Swift, Maroon 5, and Ed Sheeran.
Dancing as I make my lunch, putting my clothes away and putting away the dishes.
CRASH! Sorry Mum!

I am from
“TWO healthy things in your lunch box and ONE SNACK!”
“GET! UP!”
“ Don’t leave your shoes lying around!”
“Can I pway wif your cwomebook? Pweeeaaaassse?”

I am from
Mum and Dad, I brother and 1 sister
The car is the centre
Stories told;lives shared.
